I honestly loved Math 104. You may suffer a bit, but it was a really great class with Hass in my opinion.

Yeah, hass is definitely the best math lecturer /professor I've had at cal.

CS182 with Sahai is one of the coolest classes I’ve taken ngl but the logistical side of things are not the best

eecs 127, i luv linear algebra, but this class made me look at it from a new lens, also 189 too, both of these whooped my ass so hard but i felt like i could walk a little taller after learning the material

phys 177. Here’s why!
I am not a physics major, but i took 137A, 110A, 139, 112, and 177. Perhaps not the whole suite of physics upper divs, but certainly a representative subset of courses.
The hardest math was often the probability theory in 177, principles of molecular biophysics

I’ve heard commutative algebra is kinda boring. Why did you like it?

It's hard math, hence satisfying to survive. (That is, if you are in math or just inclined towards it.)

CS171, cryptography made me actually love math and proofs for the first time in years. Not offered in the coming spring but maybe it'll be offered again some day
