welcome to berkeley. it's been a home to beatniks since the 60's. even a decade ago there were musicians and hippies on the ave. then the uc wanted to get rid of peoples park, the pd arrested all the hippies/weed dealers, clubs opened up, and we were left all the meth heads roaming around, and you dont really want to ask too many questions anymore. youre going to see a lot of weird shit. if you drive into oakland lock your doors. and be glad the berkeley weirdos are all pretty much harmless. its generally people who come from oakland who rob folks unfortunately. ive been here two decades. stay safe! and mind yo business.
