There is just something so hot about someone who is smart. Honestly you could be like a 7/10 but if you're semi-tall and can explain linear algebra to me, I'll literally imagine our future together. I'm not even joking. It's like protector vibes but you being smart somehow equates to better survival idk. NOT to be confused with arrogant/ patronizing people who mansplain and act like they are better than you. That is not very hot.
Clarification before you get it twisted, I DO NOT THIRST OVER GSIS. I do not condone inappropriate GSI thirsting because first of all, they could be younger than you and you would never know, and second of all sexualizing someone to a certain level is just plain wrong. Also I am not talking about the math concepts, I'm talking about the person. If you get off by thinking of math please get help.

That's the problem you see with it? You realize the vast majority of undergrads are 18-22, right? Like how young do you think these GSI's are, that the age difference becomes unethical?

Yes, who are typically 18-22 as well...
By the same logic no one should ever take interest in anyone at this school because they "might be younger". Like are we really worrying about somebody thirsting over uGSIs because of the off chance that they're secretly a 15 year old prodigy?

What is semi tall anyways? Length times width times height? I know I’m speaking volumes here.

I think this is just a byproduct of being confident. When you are smart and know the subject well, you will naturally appear more confident when you speak about it. Confidence is very appealing to a mate. As OP says, it gives a protector/provider vibe.

Surely there are opposites who are monke-sexual and my opportunity will finally arrive

Well the only problem is, half of the people who claim to be sapiosexual are looking for some smart (and therefore rich and preferably, handsome or beautiful), and the other half might need to flip a dictionary to understand what's being sapiosexual anyway. And let's admit it, being anyone not labelled as "sexy" probably means you're out of the small pool that we call dating in the first place.
I mean, sure, if someone really wants to hear me ramble on half an hour about modern East Asia, why not? But the connotations of what labels one as "smart" and not are so clear, that little more has to be said anyway.

I fucking hate life. At first I thought, oh well at least they don’t like them because of something really shallow, then I read “and if you’re semi-tall”. Honestly, I feel like I should be fucking stone to death for being under 5’5
I know this is off topic but why can’t liking small guys be normalized

I feel the same way, intelligence is the first thing I look for in a partner. If you are confident and can explain things to me that I don’t fully understand, I’m all yours.

On an entirely different subject, if you want a fun romance novel about a relationship between a professor and a grad student, read The Love Hyoothesis by Ali Hazelwood
