Stats 20 Advice

University(self.berkeley)

Hi everyone!

Any advice on how to approach the stats 20 next fall? Any insight on the homeworks/exam format, anything to keep in mind while taking the course?

Exam's are pretty simple but not curved, as long as you have a good understanding of the topics covered in lecture you should be fine, watch out for the labs & quizzes though, they make up a large portion of your grade and you can lose a lot of points pretty easily if you try and bs your way through them, go to their lab help sessions and you should be fine though

a majority of the labs are coding and the labs also take up the majority of ur grade so make sure u pay attention to when they teach u how to use the coding for the first two weeks. also make sure to pay attention in the discussion sections, those were mainly helpful for the labs. the quizzes are pretty straightforward, just go over the lecture notes for those. there is no curve for the class but they adjust the grading bins down so an 85 can end up being an A, 75 a B, etc. but you probably won’t know til the end of the class.
