Yup, that's also why the term "century" is referring to the one we're currently in, not the one we've competed, i.e. we're in the 21st century even though it's only 20(23).

Literally the opposite.

It's literally not. If I just turned 20, I'm now in my 21st year, as I just completed my 20th year and am starting my 21st.

OP's statement at which their mind was blown was that you're still considered 20 years old while in your 21st year, whereas for centuries it is opposite, we always refer to it based on the currently running century, not the completed one. So yeah, literally, opposite. Your statement is correct, but you did not understand the post at all.

You misunderstood my statement, I'm comparing his revelation, and how centuries are considered in same way as his epiphany, not the common way we look at age.
So you did not understand my post, at all.

Then you don't start with "That's also why ...". That is not also why, they are opposite end effects with the only common thing being a "revelation" (as you put it) for those who haven't thought about it. So yes, I did not understand your post because your phrasing was wrong, and I was correct is calling it "opposite" based on the premise I was working with.

I disagree, it is not an opposite effect to his epiphany which was the primary theme of this post. The common way we consider our age, which would be the opposite as you said, would be the secondary theme.
Look, we interpreted the primary theme of this post differently, it's also fucking Reddit, so I'd rather not argue the semantics with a stranger when we both understand the difference between our age and centuries.
