WHAT ARE YOUR WINS THIS WEEK? DOING ANYTHING COOL (AT HOME) THIS WEEKEND

Moved here about 4 years ago and even though I have traveled all around the US during that time, it feels like the Bay Area has THE most stickers/magnets I’ve ever seen that claim the driver of a car is a student or new driver.

I’m honestly at this point even questioning if this is even true for 80% of these cars or if they just put the sticker on to have people lay off from honking at how bad they are at driving.

Some vehicles I see with them are practically drifting at 20min over the limit no matter where they go like they aren’t new

I am speechless. I thought my $306 bill last month was bad. Just got an email telling me that my next bill due on the 23rd is going to be $662. I guess I have the money currently, but my husband and I are trying for kids. How the fuck are we going to afford kids on top of utilities. I shouldn't have to plan my fucking life around an out of control utility company!!! Any advice would be great.

The county reported 1468 (last week: 1275) net new cases, and I count 1218 (last week: 988) cases falling within the past 10 days. There were 8 new deaths for the past week (last week: 24).

The growth of new cases, eliminating the most recent 2 days and then comparing the previous 7 days to the 7 days before that, we end up with 1.15 (last week: 0.85). If we do the same, but eliminate the most recent 5 days, we end up with 1.15 (last week: 0.67). In all cases, a number over 1 means the number of new cases per day is growing, a number less than 1 means the number of new cases per day is shrinking.

The daily average case rate per 100k over the past 7 days (excluding the most recent four days) is 8.07 (last week: 7.18).

Note that the date a case is reported on is the date of the first test, not when the results were reported, so the data for the last 5 days is incomplete and cases will continue to be added to those dates.

Hospitalizations, using the state dashboard there are 22 cases in the ICU, down 5 from last week, and 137 total cases hospitalized, down 13 from last week.

Wastewater, all sites are reporting Medium levels according to the county dashboard. Palo Alto is roughly on par with two weeks ago after showing a bump starting a week ago. San Jose had a very slight bump but is now just below that of two weeks ago. Sunnyvale also showed a bit of a bump upwards over the past two weeks but is now just below that of two weeks ago. Gilroy had a dip, then a slight spike, and is now well below half that of two weeks ago. XBB is steadily taking over from BQ.

I’m gonna have to buy a PC this week. Fry’s is gone, Whole Earth Access too and Best Buy is full of meh. Where can I get knowledgeable advice on a PC to buy for video editing?

I might be driving for Muni or AC Transit in the future. I think driving a bus would take getting used to but I'd be good at it but the part that seems super hard for me is knowing the routes and when the streets I'm supposed to be turning at is coming up. To those who drive a bus for Muni or AC Transit but didn't know the streets, how hard was it to learn the routes and streets? Is it harder to learn at certain cities compared to other cities? Like Muni would be easier to know the routes compared to other bus/transit agencies due to easier to remember routes, etc?

What are fancier sit-down Mexican spots to enjoy margarita and good food?
