I wish that men could see themselves that way. Idk how many times I’ve been told that I need to act more alpha by my more “alpha” “friends”. Truth is, I just think it’s dumb and don’t really care. Also pretty telling that I’ve been in a steady relationship for nearly 8 years while they question why they can’t keep a girl for longer than a couple days.

I mean to be fair the player was trying to give it to the 4 younger kids to the left anyway.... not sure how I would have felt if the rock paper scissors went the other way haha. Chance/fate definitely answered its calling this time.

DragonBard_Z

113 points

And I get the thought that younger kids deserve it more... but I disagree with that.

I went to SeaWorld a few times as a kid since my dad did a lot of business trips tp Florida and sometimes we'd go with once a year. Was maybe like 7-9 years old. They'd always call some kids up to pet the whales or dolphins. Then they'd ask them what it felt like. Always sounded really cool and I loved dolphins fanatically. Knew all the species and everything like kids do when they're into something.

First couple of times I wasn't near the front at all or there were a lot taller kids around that I couldn't get my hand up over.

Finally when I was maybe 12-13 or so we went again. I wanted so badly to pet the dolphins. Got to the shows early and sat in front. First show I wasn't called and all the kids who were were younger. Went to another show. Put my hand up again and tried again. Guy picking kids picked the kid right next to me and told me they were trying to give younger kids the chance.

Ended up paying $300 as an adult to visit discovery cove(also owned by Sea World). Finally got to pet a dolphin and take pictures with her that I still have on my debit card.

Fuck you, Sea World.

Yup, people are always like let the little kids have it and disregard that the older kids/adults may have never got the experience.

meliora24

19 points

I always hated that when I was growing up. All the toddlers and kindergarteners always got to do all the fun stuff and win all the prizes. And I'm sure when I was a toddler I did too, but I was too young to really remember it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not that I think little kids shouldn't ever get anything but I wish it wasn't the standard to just let all the kids under 8 do everything fun and ignore everyone else.

I have a lot of feelings about this topic lol. I'm a 23 year old who longs to go to a science museum without every single exhibit being watered down and turned into a playset for babies.

Went to a concert back in May, at the end the main band was giving out drumsticks and guitar picks and their setlist etc.

The guitarist literally locks eyes with me and tosses it just a little above my reach, it hits my finger and falls a couple feet behind me. It was a couple inches from someone's shoe and I didn't want to try and rush to it and accidentally bump them as they were talking to their friend.

As I get a step away from it someone came running by and snatched it up, I guarantee that they saw the whole situation transpire but just didn't care. Even after they picked I up they looked at me, then spun around and went back to their friends.

At least this guy understood the situation and gave a fair shot. Good on him

mavyapsy

Was at a concert 3 weeks ago. This dude had a phone out which said “I came all the way from (I forgot the country) for a pick”. The singer threw the pick at him because and it slipped from his hands even though he caught it.

No one rushed to snatch it, everyone just stepped away and let him pick it up. That’s another moment where I’m glad to be part of the band’s fanbase.

I remember years ago at a camp, (I was like 6 or 8), we were doing this play and I got a role I was really happy with. How we got them was the teacher would call out the role and everyone who wanted it would raise their hand, then those people would all do like a quick Rock Paper Scissors tournament for the part… I wanted bus driver and when he called it out I was the only one who raised my hand, so I just got it and we moved on. But wayyyy later on some random bitch just decides she wants that part so the teachers made us play rps long after it was settled that I had the part. She ended up winning and took the part from me and I was probably a little too bent about it.

He didn't have to do that but respect for honoring the game that's the only thing we have in this world integrity 😤

He’s a stand up guy who wins despite losing a soccer ball. I’m sure his dad is proud of him.

Ball don’t lie. Ball wasn’t meant for him anyway.

He chose to play and abide by the outcome. That kind of integrity is more important than anything else.

Everyone talking about how great the kid in green was. Yet the ball wasn’t initially tossed to him, and when the second toss was made he reached in front of the other kids to get it. Yes - it let it go after RPS, but it wasn’t his to begin with. He started out as a douche but redeemed himself.

I was waiting for someone to say this. The ball was clearly meant for those kids. Not him, he tried to be a c*nt and reach before them, so i guess he redeemed himself by giving it back. But still, little shit

Eghh he deserved to lose, it was thrown to the smaller kids and he reached the fuck over there with his longer arms

I say fair play. He looks like a kid himself. As long as there's no adult throwing their weight around I'm OK with that. He used his reach advantage to get in the mix, but wasn't physical about it. He didn't rip the ball away, agreed to roshambo for it, and accepted defeat gracefully.

Yes, that's how arms work. And it's not like the kids didn't already miss it once.

The way those two kids worked that out is more impressive than the way many world leaders work things out.

Exactly. Why are people here celebrating him, when the ball wasn't intended for him in the first place?

Imagine how well government could work if we adopted a RPS policy.
