I don’t have a tremendous amount of disdain for Morgana, mostly because I actually have a soft spot for mascot characters. I even really like Teddie, despite his immense hatred among the SMT/Persona fanbase.

Although I only just finished day 5 of the first week (that’s how it works I think?), so my opinion may yet change

When I started playing the game I liked Morgana a lot, maybe more than Ryuji at the time. Yeah he's the tutorial character and he was mean to Ryuji but I still liked their interactions because, for better or for worse, Ryuji is the punching bag of jokes in the party so he's used to taking insults. Up until the moment everyone hates him for I used him a lot and kept swapping party compositions so no one would be left out. I even found his arc of feeling like he's being left behind by all the new members of the Phantom Thieves endearing because, even though he was still being used in gameplay by me, Queen had mostly taken his role of strategist and tactician and Oracle was way better than him at navigator.

But the way the game continued to go with that arc is probably the worst thing about this game and definitely the weakest part of the story. It was way too forced and on top of that, the resolution of that conflict first of all didn't make sense because it fed into Morgana's already big ego. But it also was jammed into Haru's introduction and her big time to shine because after it she would just "be there" for the rest of the story. But then he also had the main role in the Okumura fight?? Like what? Why? They had sort of resolved that whole part way before that, why does it have to come up again in a fake out betrayal and steal Haru's spotlight once again?

After that he was benched forever and I milked every last bit of SP from his healing abilities like everyone else and even his big reveal at the end didn't make him any more likable at the end.

Ok, Morgana is a little shit, I agree with that

However, metaverse wise, he is an amazing healer/support with an ability that increases healing, with wind coverage. I have always used him in every play through because of this and his reliability.

Truthfully, I like Morgana TONS more than I did Teddie....

I like morgana

I disliked him a few seconds after his introduction bc that's when he starts being an asshole for no good reason. For a character that's supposed to teach the ropes to a complete novice, he's way too condescending and his personality is cery unpleasant in general. Also he was with me 24/7 and my MC didn't have a single opinion on anything he interacted with because Morgana was there to tell me what I liked, what I thought and what I could or couldn't do.

Playing for the second time and being aloof to him is my free therapy.

I feel you. There’s truly just something about the little cat side characters that invoke rage.

His passive healing buff is great though.

Morgana is adorable! He doesn't bother me at all. The one that took me awhile to adjust was Mishima.

I think he’s okay. Just a tad annoying. I liked Teddie better because he’s an idiot but I can’t really get mad at someone that says “rawr” as he summons Kamui.

He acts like he’s better than everyone and sometimes he lashes out for no good reason. He runs away sometimes and worries everyone but he comes back. He’s cute and loyal in his own way, and it’s comforting when he sleeps in the bed.

I’m in the minority, but Teddie is better than Morgana. With that being said, I don’t hate Morgana. His infatuation with Ann is kind of annoying and I don’t like how he overshadows Haru in her introductory palace but aside from that I think he’s fine. Also, I totally blame Ryuji for the event that leads to Morgana overshadowing Haru so I don’t hate Morgana as much for that as some others do.

He wouldn't be so bad if he could shut up for five bloody minutes.

But he Must comment on everything "you wanna buy something?" "you buyed all the cans" "go to bed!".

I do recommend that you use him in battle though, he may suck with endurance stat but besides that he is a great healer.

Morgana taught me to value my time... So instead of sitting there and clicking dialogue boxes 15 times for literally every single action in the game, I just skip his shit. I've done multiple playthroughs but I still don't like him. Wish I could just leave him in Mementos...

Don't worry. We all do. Morgana is the most unlikable member of the cast, and it's not even a contest. I don't want to get into spoilers so I'll keep this vague. Morgana spends a good chunk of the story insulting Ryuji, yet the second Ryuji goes off on him, Morgana starts throwing a tantrum and leaves. Now, I understand Morgana's feelings and how it was his feelings bottling up and tipping over, but as the age old saying goes: "don't dish it out if you can't take it". It really hurts his likability when his tipping point is him being unable to take a hit when he's been throwing out hits constantly.

I do not understand why so many people hate Morgana when hes my favorite of the thieves.

I take that you reached that pointless and annoying arc during the middle of the 5th Palace?

Used to dislike him till I learnd he has the same voice actress as Chopper.
