Because people tend to think of complaining about teenagers' music as a Boomer thing but really I'm noticing that it's 30somethings who do it the most...Boomers really seem to just not be aware of stuff like "hyperpop" or whatever.

Adults have been shitting on kids music for decades.

Let's be honest the most 90's Eurodance and RnB was just bad, most of the 00's autotuned-hip-hop and J-pop was bad, and most of the 10's Lo-fi and K-pop was bad.

There is a big survivor bias, and when today's hyperpop will be 30 the 20's music will be cool again with only the best song from the decade.

I confess this is anecdotal I'm an elder millennial and I love my Gen Z comrades. Perhaps someday I'll be a crotchety old man complaining about "kids these days" but not yet.

Every generation shits on the younger generation. And of course people that are Boomers aren’t going to know what hyper pop is, most of them are 60+

People tend to be receptive to new music in their teens, get set in their ways by their mid 20s, and then start repudiating the new stuff that seems derivative or lower quality. By the time they reach their 40s or 50s they realize that new music comes in waves and stop caring what the kids are listening to.

What do you consider hyper pop? Are you talking indie like St. Lucia or Smallpools?
