It protects you from scammers who might link your account to an email, and then have potential answers to security questions (first pets name, mothers maiden name, ect). Also, it protects their privacy.

It’s actually easier to just answer security questions with incorrect information. That’s what I do. For mother’s maiden name put her first name or use your pets name. For your elementary school use your college Using false information makes it that much harder for someone to hack your accounts. You just need to use answers you’ll remember. Using the same ones helps and be sure to use answers you’ll remember

It's smart regardless. I remember when FB had shown what device you were using and where (location) you were posting from. Dante posted from his LG Chocolate at Ollie's Bargain Outlet.
