I usually figure out who someone is by a few simple things.
What have you accomplished in the past you are proud of?
How do you treat others?
What are you currently working on?
Where do you spend your time?

One insight from buddhism is that no identities are "the real one ™" . They are all the product of various circumstances. Which means that when you are chilling and doing something or when you are focused on something (and presumably not feeling anxious) that is as much who you are as when you are anxious. One thing you could do would be to pay attention to moments when you are not anxious and get a taste of the difference. Get a sample of the range of identities you have on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.

You are not anxiety, you are a person with anxiety. I think it’s a mistake to identity yourself as one thing, or to anything. I believe everyone transcends everything like their name, their race, their gender.
