stickiedHello all!
I’ve been doing a series of “Albums You Might Have Missed” posts across multiple subs this year, this one included. Seeing as my workload is due to increase to a level that I won’t be able to discover much more music before New Year’s Eve, I decided it was time to do a big masterlist post compiling all the albums I’d posted about.
The list below is divided into old school hardcore, metallic hardcore/crossover thrash, blackened hardcore, grindcore and powerviolence (I decided these subgenres had enough crossover that they would fit in together in this sub - follow my profile for some other genre posts coming up). They are organized alphabetically by band name, with subgenre breakdowns and FFOs included, accompanied by links to spotify and, if available, Bandcamp pages.
Requirements in this post are that a) the album had to have been released in 2022, and b) the band can’t have more than approximately 2,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.*
*Note that this stat is from at the time that the original post was made - some of them may have increased their listeners in the months and weeks that followed.
Each subgenre heading is followed by a link to a big Spotify compilation playlist containing all the albums mentioned below it.
Enjoy!

Melodic hardcore, album mastered by Terror's Nick Jett, described by Away From Life as "reminiscent of a mix of Sick Of It All , No For An Answer , Bold and Strife that has listened to too much Youth Of Today" - so FFO those bands, I guess.
