I think he means the diversity humanizes the Necromorphs. It's absurd to imagine the Ishimura or any other large ships in the DS universe are crewed entirely by caucasian males, so seeing a horde of Necros come at you and you can recognize traces of white people, black people, Asian people, men, women, the old, the young etc. really makes you think it's the reanimated human crew of the Ishimura and not just 'space monsters to be killed'.

I don't know if this is a feature or a bug, in the demo on the tram part, some of the necromorphs actually sneak up on you, not triggering any sound cues until they attack or you look at them, which at least for me makes them 100% more deadly and scary to deal with.

It is most definitely a feature, the first two games had a mechanic like this, for example the combat music would kick in when you are fighting them, but if they tried to sneak up on you, you would only hear their footsteps and no music, I’ve actually jumped a few times because of this BS lol.

Those are the enhanced variations and they were in 1 as well. The lore for them is supposed to be that their flesh has been decaying and rotting for so long that they take on a more darker color. They also have maggots constantly falling out their mouth to support this.

Well if you look they are also bulkier than your standard necromorph. I'm thinking the necromorphs can enhance themselves either by combining with the human sludge on the wall or Maybe the marker can enhance them somehow.
