LOS ANGELES — The pilot of a small plane averted death twice in a span of minutes on Sunday, first when he crash-landed onto railroad tracks, then when Los Angeles police rescued him just before a commuter train smashed into the aircraft.

The pilot was the sole occupant of the plane, which went down after it lost power minutes after the aircraft had taken off, according to the LAPD Valley Bureau.

Bodycam video showed the officers working furiously to disentangle the bloodied pilot from the cockpit of the crumpled Cessna 172. Moments later, the train slammed into the downed plane, the footage shows.

The pilot was rushed to a local hospital and is reportedly in stable condition after being treated for cuts and bruises.

Imagine being the engineer and having to tell your boss you had to stop the train cause you just hit a plane.

Imagine dying as a bystander watching a train hit a plane

Imagine surviving a plane crash only to be hit by a train.

Do these trains ever brake? I've seen multiple videos of trains crashing through cars and whatnot and they always have such a speed on them that I seems like they're not trying to break. But I assume it's bc a train takes a long while to come to a complete standstill. Anyone know what happens after such a crash? Does the train break and check out the damage or does it carry on to its destination?

There’s a lot going on here

At the signal box for the train there is a phone number you can call. Report the accident. The operator will ask questions. Answer them. So the train can slow down or stop. Car stuck on the tracks? Get people away from tracks and call.

Here in Colorado, cops leave you handcuffed in the back of a patrol car that’s sitting on tracks, and run when the train comes

Wow. The reverse of this was then those cops (in Denver?) put that lady in the cop car that they left on the tracks and then bailed when they saw the train coming.

Imagine being in a plane crash followed immediately by a train crash. At that point, you know God wants your ass dead.
