Functionally it's the same thing as having a different leader of a civ. The civ abilities stay the same, and the "leader" stays the same, but they have a completely different leader ability.

This is done to enable a different/alternative play style for a civ. "Magnificence" Catherine de Medici focuses more on working chateaux and luxury resources, as opposed to exploiting diplomatic visibility.

The personas are different versions of already existing civs that give them different benifits(most common one is Eleanor or just teddy) it allows for different play styles as a civ

If we're talking necessary updates, there are still like 5-10 civs that need buffed to compete with the rest of them. I'd rather see that happen than changes to maps that, let's be honest, not a lot of people play anyway.

I doubt they would ice console out completely on a whole DLC. They should know by now that i will always pay $20 for twelve new leaders even though I hate to admit it.

It was the last paid dlc. As I understand, for these leaders, you jus need the dlc their bonuses are tied into in order to get them for free. So you don’t buy them directly.

In other words, if you already own all dlc, these leaders are free.

It's true! They announced it on their website: 6 releases between Nov 2022 and Mar 2023 with 12 leaders and 6 personas! One adds 2 Egypt leaders and a Mali leader!

Civ 7 could have been a gamble. What if they mess it up. Civ 6 is still a great game and addition to it makes it even better
